According to research by travel experts at Planet Cruise, who used data ranging from average temperatures, price of ferries and even popularity on social media, the Scottish islands have made the top 10.

Island hopping has steadily increased over the last few years with staycations becoming more popular amid a cost-of-living crisis.
The Scottish islands, especially the likes of Skye, have boomed in popularity in recent years with gorgeous scenery and top tourist spots like the Fairy Pools and The Storr.
Scotland has ranked 9th overall in the list, beating some of the most tranquil and picturesque countries in the world.
The Philippines has been named the best place in the world for an island-hopping holiday, closely followed by Japan and then Thailand.
A host of European countries have also made the list with Croatia, Greece and Spain all beating Scotland to make the top five.
